My adjustable spanner was just not up to the job...
Also Ron, make sure the brackets are fixed to their highest setting (oval holes) otherwise you just end up adjusting them with the trim already attached...which is a 57 RRS TDV8

Tried it on Saturday.
Scooshed on WD40 & waited.
21mm socket over the nut.
My size 10 boot giving a big push.
Nut didn't budge but I moved the D3 forward
Will try with a large breaker bar this afternoon.I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Trouble is they're not only corroded on... but they're nylocks too... double wammy.
Good luck with the bar method.... failing that do what I did and let an exhaust specialist loosen them for you 57 RRS TDV8

Got mine off easily enough, the fun i found was trying to get the 175NM torque whilst sitting on the ground and very little to use to get the purchase on the bar. ATB

No, the plastic parts at the bottom of the doors are 'Black' (or very dark grey) the same material as you see on a normal D3.

I really like the back bumper and how its been coded. its a different shape to mine however so would not be able to leave the center part black.

D3 / D4 looks
Interesting to see the quality workmanship and innovative changes that have been deployed to enhance the looks of your D3's. i had a Cairns Blue D3 four years ago and then changed it for a defender. I always wished I had gone for zermat silver instead of blue. Now I am about to take delivery of a new silver D4 but I have to admit I struggle to convince myself that i prefer the new front end to the original. Somehow, the mixture of black and colour matched parts and the more blunt front end makes the D3 look much more purposeful and less "contrived". I do however prefer the interior of the new car and that along with the 3.0 engine swayed me away from a late D3 - but it was a very close thing. i think that the award for best looks has to go to the hybrid vehicles in this discussion, and I especially like K3Iths GS rear valance.
But before anyone asks, no I don't want to swap any bits! Thoroughly enjoying my landrovers in the southwest.

What a nice mod! It really complements the D3. I am getting my first D3 this friday, a 2005 HSE but with the standard rims. So I also got a set of 20" stormers like yours, which I think looks amazing on the D3 in zermatt silver, but I cant really find a nice summertire to put on it, until I saw yours...!
Please let me know what brand and size they are, and what you opinion of them are.
