Front Passenger door won't unlock! Suggestions???

I should also mention that the door lock problem was apparently nothing to do with electrical gremlins & purley a mechanical issue - this has happened to quite a few D3s passing through Armstrong Massey. The "cable link to the lock needed extending", apparently. I hope such a pearl of wisdom means something/is of help to anyone. DGRR
