Front passenger windscreen wiper stopped working!

Wondering if anyone can help.

My front windscreen wiper on the passenger side has stopped working. It's my fault, I've been a bit dim. Wiping snow off the windscreen a few weeks ago, missed part of the passenger side of the windscreen. Got in the car, started it, still see a bit of snow on the windscreen, turn wipers on. My side works fine, other side refuses to move. (I presume due to the resistance of the wet snow.) Now it just sits there, limp and lifeless, huddling itself into the alcove behind the bonnet Sad

I've phoned the local dealer who's going to take a look at it on Monday morning, but any ideas what's actually gone wrong/fixes in the mean time?

Thanks in advance!

Ade.

Ade Thumbs Up

First check the wiper arm nut hasn't come loose Thumbs Up

Then as Sharkysharks says , check under the scuttle panel to make sure the linkage hasn't popped off Thumbs Up

did exactly this back in Feb, its probably just stripped all the teeth of the inside of the wiper arm. Take it off (just pop the center out and undo the nut), and you'll find no grooves left in the alloy casting. I just got a new wiper arm from Nick (about 28quid) and fitted it - back to normal again.

Our D3 did the same during the winter. 13mm spanner and tightened the spindle nut. Been fine ever since.
