Front Wheel Bearing Change (DIY)

Friday night, the front wheel bearing went Rolling with laughter , after months of rumbling, I planned to do it at the end of the month (pay day), but the Disco won. Big Cry
So Saturday morning was spent on the phone, sourcing a new bearing, which my freindly Land rover trained independant mechanic had two in stock and advised me to by the Timkin one.
Saturday afternoon I stripped off the brakes, disc, caliper holder ( the bolts were tight), the ABS and brake sensors, removed the 32mm nut of the drive shaft, then finally the 4 x 15mm bolts after much WD40, then it should have been a large hit with a hammer and it's off, but No way, so I unbolted the whole arm and then a quick trip to work to use the press and out she poped.
After a clean up the new bearing fitted with ease and an 1.5 hours later the car was back together and running.
In total approx 4 hours, including the trip to work and back, but saved on labour costs.
If your mechanically minded then you should try doing your own maintenance, saves you a fortune! Very Happy
