well braved the elements at -4, everything sorted, heated mirrors work, windscreen jets work, water bottle filled up with high concentrate of washer fluid, fuel burner has now kicked into life after taking out and putting back in the relay.... so we're sorted ready for another hectic month of driving around the country dropping off new cars (I wish) Laughing Laughing

What a cracking resource this forum is. I'm sure I would have given up long ago otherwise.

Just experienced the inevitable consequences of the freeze up ie frozen jets that didn't thaw when the temperature rose above freezing. Had a look with my trusty long nosed artery forceps & low & behold, the 10A washer fuse was blown. Now inserted the 15A spare & hey presto, they worked! They didn't survive another -7'C freeze up overnight but at least the fuse didn't blow again & they eventually thawed after 45 miles!

So the moral of the story if two fold

1) put neat screenwash in the vehicle in winter
2) always do a search if a problem arises as the answer is here ....somewhere!
