Frontrunner roof rack
Fitted my FR roofrack over the weekend, took me two and a half hours, the hardest bit was getting it on the roof on mi byself. Is there a real need for the wind deflector? Has anyone out yonder used one without a deflector, if so any probs.

Hi biskit,
I also have the Front Runner (Wind Cheetah), which has a single deflector. I believe that dual deflectors are recommended for the D3. I only have the single deflector on a 2.2m rr, but have yet to really test it for noise. Do you have the single or dual deflector (and how long is your rr)?
Best Wishes,

Hi Bushwanderer, i have the 2.2 m rack and single deflector and that is 800 mil wide. The better instuctions i found are in LR World november 2009, and they had the two piece plate, didnt look any wider though.I think its rather nice

It's flippin loud with a single deflector, that's for sure. Much louder than my expo rack, and that's got Frontrunner lights mounted on it!I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I am running a FR-roofrack with one delector in the middle.
Yes it's loud....
But now I read you guys use two deflectors....?????
So you just take two deflectors and mount them one beside the other?
Space in between or not?
isn't better to make a deflector over the full width?
