fuel consumption 10,8 l/100 km, good average?
Hi
Have my D3 3 months now, picked it up in Trondhein and drove it home (620 km) to the south of Norway. Averaged 10,5 l/100km.
This weekend I did another trip, about 150 km's to the cabin on light sloped b-roads averaging 70-80 km/h. 2 adults, 3 kids and some lugage. last week cleaned the MAP and I have installed a mild BAS remap, with automatic gearbox. With our 7 seat Renault Espace we avg. 0.8-0.9 l/100km on petrol on the same trip.
Now I average 10,8l/km, ergo about 800 km's from one tank of diesel. I have been driving with a 'light' right foot but not as an old lady. The brochure says it can be as lean as 0.96 l/100km on mixed driving conditions but I find this a tat overrated, anyone succeeded in averaging less than 10l/100km?

Not so good I would say. I have a My05 and I get 10,3 l/100km for city driving in Stockholm with MT-tires
A couple of weekends ago I got down to 9,2 l/100km for a road trip (800 km) cruising at 110 km/h
[forgot to mention] I have a manual gearbox

I will be taking a trip to Holland this summer, about 1000 km of high way roads, see what the reading will be. Me thinks the automatic gear box is responsible for some of the poor >10l/100km economy. Innercity driving is >13-14l/100km.www.skienklinikk.no

grzesiul,
Only as far as Stockholm, Sweden goes. I am a new Disco3 owner....
The plan is to equip it for a long expedition, but that will take some time with all the mods I have read about on this site Faultmate MSV2, Optima secondary battery and Traxide system bought. Looking for an Engel fridge and an Oxtent now...
Cheers,
Henrik

After blanking the EGR's and cleaning MAP I had a little 110km trip with a friend and some stuff in the car. And I averaged 8.2L/100km with MT/R's on. Drove mostly on cruise control thou.

I think these figures only make sense if you are talking about measured fuel consumption, not the computer (mine is way too optimistic). When I commute to and from work, 53km with about 40km motorway @110kmh and the rest b-roads @80kmh I get a measured 10.0L/100km. I've been down to 9.8 and up at 10.2, but it's never far off the 10.0 mark. During easter we did a 2000km trip to southern germany and back, mostly 110-120kmh on the motorway and consumption was the same, a very consistent 10.0L/100km. The very few times I've done some city driving with it, it uses a lot more fuel though.
I've been monitoring my fuel usage on the 'Fuelly' web site since January and it's averaged out at 11.2l/100km (25.2 mpg) over that time so you're not far off that mark.
Incidentally, my trip computer says I'm averaging 25.6 mpg so it's not that far off the 'real world' figure. Must admit though, I haven't reset it for well over a year now.Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills

Mine has an auto gearbox and a remap.
My (mixed city and highway) avarage for the last 5000 km is about 11,2/100 km. On the highway most of the time I am about 130-140 km/h and I don't like driving like an old lady
By the way, driving offroad or constantly topspeed on German Highways is NOT good for your avarage
