Fuel Economy - Range
Hi all
First post and am a new D4 owner. Have owned most types of Land Rovers including many Discos but nothing newer than a D2.
First long run in my 2009 D4 HSE today. A mixture of motorway (75 mph) and wiggly B roads gave me an average of 32.5 mpg and looking like around 400 - 450 miles per tank of fuel.
Does this seem about correct?
All opinions welcome. Many thanks.

The computer on mine was, with a comparison with a brim to brim calculation over around 1,000 miles, optimistic by between 6 and 7%. Over a 4,500 mile brim to brim calculation, mine returned 26.5 mpg. Even though it’s hilly around here (which really doesn’t help) 32.5 is probably a combination of an optimistic computer and good driving conditions. Expect high 20’s.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Thanks for the quick response.
High 20's is what I did expect but if the computer tells me 30+ that is as good as being told I am good looking so I will take it!!

Sounds about right. Ive managed to average 37 on a longrun (tucked in behind a 90 at 60 for most of it) but typically I get 32-33.

Not mpg but I think I still hold the forum record for speed in my D3 though. Even the satnav struggled to keep the map scrolling fast enough. Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
