Hi
I thought the large connectors at the back on the near side also goes round to the fuel pump
Indeed the wire is white/ purple , fuse 1A in the engine fuse box, 25 amp

Also found this , know it’s a LHD D4 so maybe the D3 follows the same route
Have circled the tank connector , so on the off chance maybe it might help , can see the connector numbers on the wiring diagram , ref C0114 on the tank connector , pin 4
Does look like it goes towards that large connector at the back near side ??

Thank you
that's good of you to go to the trouble to find that info for me
I'm off outside with my can of electrical spray cleaner to investigate.
I thought those 2 electrical blocks maybe for the rear lights etc.
will give it a try around that area.
update
just removed spare wheel cleaned the 2 big wiring blocks good old spray
but still no pump working could not find any white wire with purple stripe around the connectors though
just started raining again time for a cuppa

No worries , it was just on the off chance it may have gone that route
Only other connector I’ve seen is on the drivers side down low behind the wheel arch liner , alas don’t know if that’s for the fuel pump
Unless the wiring runs inside the drivers side by the door, at least it would be easy to have a look at the loom if u can find the white/ purple wire
Hope u find it

Thanks again,
will have a look in the morning.
snowing & rain stopped play today & floods all over
pretty sure water is the problem having broken down twice on each occasion road was flooded
that's why I was hoping to find a connector with dodgy wiring
