Fumes from Fuel Burner?
Just completed my first week in the New D3, only issue I seem to have is when you first start up or i am travelling slowly in traffic i seem to get fumes in the cabin, I assume they are coming from the fuel burner that warms the engine when cold, if the recurruclation is used no prob. Anyone else experiencing this??
Cheers all, Still fantastic though. It's my mud so keep out!

Hi discolife, yes I get the same thing, especially when stood or in slow moving traffic, I think the exhaust from the heater is under the front wheels somewhere.
The FBH seams to be something of a mystery and with a mind of its own, obviously it only kicks in when its below a certain temp, but I cant seam to switch it on or off at will??
We had a A-Class Merc thad had a FBH and it had an on/off switch on the dash, cant see why landrover cant do this with the D3?

So, Doctor, are we saying that driving in reverse means that there are not any emissions from the D3
Will not be trying it on M4 but may try it on my 3/4 mile driveway

Any 07MY and any previous D3 that has had the Enhancement programme carried out should not have FBH fumes entering the cabin...
The specific TSB is LA412-002, VIN range 5A000360-6A380334
If you have an 07MY (check the VIN for an '7A' in it) then there is a problem....

build period is easily checked by the dates on the stickers on various components - headlights, air suspension etc. these are usually no more than a couple of weeks before line build...
It's possible that the dealer didn't PDI properly or an 'old' calibration file was used during PDI, personally i'd seek an assurance that all software is latest version - although it's possible that one of the recirc. flap stepping motors is faulty or a flap is jammed....

To agree with TFC, My June 06 D3 doesn't get any fumes in the cabin from the FBH. This is quite miraculous, given the clouds of smoke which I've seen on one or two occasions eminating from under the front wheel arch!!!Arctic Frost TDV6 5-seat
Terrain response
Climate control
Xenons
(Yes, it's an odd spec - but I like it!)

Well checked the VIN today and it definately has a 7A in the middle so I guess I have something going on that shouldn't be. Back to the dealer I guess? It's my mud so keep out!

Just before you go back to the dealer, my car is nov 04, and used to really get bad fumes from the fbh. Since enhancement (which should put my car the same as your 07) I no longer get fumes from a cold start, but I still get a whiff if I start an engine that has been running for a short while then is stopped.
An example would be a cold morning, start her up, fbh kicks in, no fumes. Drive 2 miles to the shops, switch off, go into shop. Come out 5 minutes later and restart engine, I do get small whiff of fumes
Its much better than it was, but its not perfect. If yours is like mine by all means report it to the dealer, but I doubt they will be able to do anything about it.
Like Gareth, mine was improved after enhancement but not perfect.Zermatt silver 06 reg.
