G4 Owners - Orange Plasma winch ropes

I don't own a G4 car at all but yesterday I was at the UK Plasma rope importers buying a new plasma rope for my Def90 coz I broke mine at the weekend................................. anyway Andy Thomlinson who imports Plasma rope from Puget Ropes in USA told me the story behind the Tangiers Orange Plasma ropes that he has in stock.
Apparently when the cars were sent out on the G4 they all had Tangiers Orange Plasma rope, supplied to LR by him, on the winch and a RED captive hook not a yellow one. When the cars were sold to the public after the event the Plasma was replaced by steel wire rope. So if any of you want to return your G4 Disco back to original spec as it was on the event Ruftraks in Glasgow has a stock of Tangiers Orange 9.5mm Plasma ropes made up an orange rock/ chafing guard and at extra cost (on top of the Â£169+VAT cost of the 30m Plasma rope) you can have a Red captive hook.The orange Plasma is the same price as the normal deep purple coloured winch rope.

Now a disillusioned new Land Rover buyer and have jumped ship to something less expensive and more reliable that hugs trees.... now driving a Mini Countryman PHEV as well as my trusty and brilliant 1996 Epsom Green Defender90 Tdi300
