Guys I missed this first time around and like the discussion and appreciate what is being said for and against this practice
I have to admit that I am one of those who have applied the G4 sticker thing to my D3 and I’m pretty happy with it. Yes I know it isn't a "REAL" G4 but none the less it is a D3 and I think the G4 competition was a great idea as it not only brought teams together from all over the world in a single challenge but it was a very clever marketing tool by Land Rover to publicise their vehicles and there ability. I got my idea originally from a photo I found of D3 G4's in the USA (See Photo).
Why have I done it? Why have I plastered G4 stickers all over my wagon? Well I could argue it’s my car and I can do what the **** I want with it but the truth is I just wanted it to stand out a tiny bit from the normal Chelsea tractor look. The G4 logo is in my opinion a very eye catching and memorable logo and I suppose gives the impression that you are willing to do things with it other than drive the kids to school and do the weekly shopping.
I spend a lot of time in the mountains, Scotland, Wales, Lakes and Europe and it’s always an eye catcher and conversation starter. When we are away she’s usually packed up to the gunnels with boxes and jerry cans etc. strapped to the roof and bikes on the back so again she looks the part instead of being seen as just a high class taxi.
Do I think she is a G4 Challenge D3? Of course not but she certainly promotes the G4 challenge and the amount of people that have asked me what the challenge is all about it unreal. I guess at the end of the day I could have put anything on here to make it stand out from the normal D3’s but in my mind nothing compliments any D3 better than the G4 logo and what it represents.
So in closing i'm happy with what I have done and i'm planning on doing more to here, winch, etc
Ta Ta for now

Wow, now that looks nice!!
IMHO I stickered my D3 up initially to help with scratch prevention etc so personally I couldn't give a monkeys about what other Discovery owners think, also many of the so called owners are prevented from personalising their cars cos the wifey wont let them so STFU!!!!!
