G+G are very good. Highly recommended. Also could try Alymer Motors in Potters Bar and ask for Martin. They are good guys and did all my work until Geoff took over. James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

Interesting point made about how to tell if/when your belt was last changed. What make with the "original" belt of been? I'm guessing gen Landrover?

It was a dayco belt but here is the thing some odd make idlers never heard of them, there is no paper work for the belt but a sticker in the wind screen saying next cam belt in 2021. I'm not prepared to take the risk as its a solid motor. Original oil pump tho.

Hi great pics. Did you need to drain oil before pump change?
And I’m sure I’m wrong but is there a bolt missing from the top of the water pump?
If indeed it is the water pump.
Go easy on me😅

Its the old problem when you have not done them before, instead of undoing the belt cover bolt in that position, they remove the top water pump bolt as its very close and cant be seen easily .
This is why some members water pump's have broken away if its not noticed.

If the engine doesn’t have a pressure reader even a snap on reader can’t kniw the pressure!
Maybe it was fuel pressure.

hey guys, just to let you know, im going with Broadfields garage, they gave me a very close price to the 200 mile place (after including fuel costs) so saving myself time since Broadfields garage is just 50 miles away!
thank you LaserTam!!
