gear change

Dear All,

Does anybody else suffer from a strange noise when changing gear?

It does not happen all the time and not so much in lower revs. It makes a sort of dim chiming noise. It seems to happen when i drepress the club and lift off the gas.

Any ideas? Rolling Eyes

The bells, the bells, sorry Embarassed Does this happen through every gear, even though it is not all the time is the first question.

it seems to happen from gear two up but not so much at slower speeds and is more noticable when changing up rather than down. Confused

Don't worry used to 10forcash when he's had a drink or two, so the odd error is not a problem Wink

Need more info, is it a light metalic ding or a heavy metalic bong.

Oh boy have I let my self in for trouble when the guys read this Embarassed .

Oh flippin heck Slimer, the man is having enough problems with his bings and bongs, let alone driving along try to record them.

If it was 10forcash, he would have Mrs 10 on the floor with the tape recorder mind you Shocked

So seriously, is the metalic noise a heavy one or a light one?

I'm glad that I have been able to brighten some people's day Laughing

Granted, it's not an earthshattering problem; it doesn't really rank up there with starving african children, world terrorism or who will be the next presenter of Countdown but in my own little world it's a big deal. So a little bit of concentration and focus would be greatly appreciated Crying or Very sad

By the way I think I may have used the wrong word to describe the noise. It's not really like a chiming. It's more like a whine, a short low pitched whine.

Now, take it seriously please.

That sounds like a tight or dry bearing or similar. Possibly even the thrust bearing out of alignment, but don't know enough about the D3 clutch yet to help anymore. Again, this sounds like a dealer check up.
