Where to get belts changed in Highlands IV24?

Hi all,

New owner here, having just bought an 07 plate, 2.7 TDV6, XS with 80k miles on. Unfortunately, it's not had the belts changed yet....

Can anyone recommend someone in Sutherland to do the work along with the oil pump please? I'm obviously keen not to take it too far given how overdue they are.

Main dealer in Inverness has a terrible rep, local Indy I use for Defender work isn't keen, and MMP is 175 miles away in Dundee. Help!

Thanks

Yeah thanks, spoke to Mike at MMP already. Really helpful and great value too.

Driving 175 miles to get to him on belts which are four years overdue worries me though....

You can only try and phone some of the Indies in Sutherland, although they are far and few between and I doubt any LR specialists. Think there is the odd one in Caithness if you do a search.

Have you tried Hamish at Inverness 4x4, Seafield Road, Inverness. 0146 233303.

Failing that Ryan at Pentland Land Rover, Elgin. Was there last Friday and they had spare workshop slots.

You’re right about Parks, Inverness - based on previous experience, I wouldn’t personally touch them with a sterilised barge pole and Elgin are a lot cheaper.

As an aside the brake flexi hoses should be changed every six years. A quick cheek wouldn’t go amiss for peace of mind.

Thanks all for the advice.

Currently concocting a plan with a work colleague who has a Disco 4 which is at time for the belts. He may end up trailering it down behind his, and we'll see if Mike is game to do both at the same time!
