Getting rid of my D3

I've not been here for a while but thought I'd log in to say that after two and a half years my Disco 3 S and I have come to the end of the road. I have spent many hours deciding what to buy next and all the usual suspects have been considered.

My conclusion ................................... I will soon be taking delivery of a 2008.5MY Disco 3 HSE Very Happy

The only things wrong with my old one were, no electric seats no sat nav, no phone kit - happily this cannot be said of the HSE - Woo hoo!

Even better!

Having had mine for five days now I am delighted with it, even without some of the toys. I sat in a friend's Toyota Landcruiser on Monday - the driving position felt all wrong. I now can't imagine driving anything else.

If you want you want to sell the old one privately, there's a bloke on eBay seems to sell a lot of motors for his mates............ Whistle

Congratualtions on an excellent choice. I trust it's silver.

Well as you asked nicely, I can tell you that the S spec was an ex demonstrator with active rear locking diff, Xenons, Full leather and tow kit which new would have cost roughly £38K and I paid £31K for it. It will be three years old in March 08, has done 50,000 miles and has a full main dealer service history. I've had it for 28 months. The trade price offered is just over £17,500 so I'll leave you to do the maths.

Oh, and the S is a manual gearbox.

As for reliability I have had all the usual issues such as screen wash level indicator, EPB stuck on, faulty bonnet alarm sensor, compressor failure, light switch failure, sudden loss of power at high speeds due to ECU error etc etc. But it has never left me stranded and all these issues were fixed and have not reoccured
