will these tyres fit discovery 3 with out modification?

Hi All,

will 265/70R17 BF Goodrich AT KO fit my 2005 discovery 3 without any modification? are they going to be to big and cause any rubbing, scuffing etc?

If tyres have been sitting in someones garage for 2 years do they go off? what i mean to say is do the dry out, crack, deteriorate ?

don't now what to do now. 2 garages say no but a driver on here says he uses them. I got a chance to buy 5 of these tyres for 300. they have hardly been used. very good condition 10 to 12 mm tread. have been lying in his garage for 2 years as his toyota hilux was changed and has a different wheel size now.

hate to think i am missing a good deal.

Weight rating up to D3 requirements?

I know only one 👍 but patient monkey catches top banana. If it was me I'd risk missing them to wait on more feedback. It's only a bargain if they are right. Thumbs Up

Over the many years of D3s & D4s we have done many, many things that couldn't be done according to the book. Official guides say just use these standard sizes, lots of peeps have pushed these limits and tried different sizes. Trick is to use that info/experience in deciding if this size or that size fit, as you're doing. Thumbs Up

both garages i checked with say that a disco 3 will not take any bigger than 245/70/17. Surely this can't be true?

I ran that size of Maxis Bighorn a lot on my D3 without trouble. Rather sad they won't fit over the calipers on the D4.

I had 265x70 on 17s they did rub a little now and again, so I fitted adjustable rods. I now have AT3s on 18" wheels
 Mantec sump guard.
Prospeed tree slider/steps.
Flack duel battery system.
18"Compomotive/AT3 tyres
Brembo 4pot front brakes
