The LR remote also operates the heater fans, this is what seems to make a major improvement on cabin heating, there is an Altox kit now available for the D3, I don't know if the Altox does on the D4, best check with Bodsy to avoid disappointment, if it does it's the bargain of the year these cold mornings. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Remote and times heat could be specified when ordering a new car and from memory cost about £1,200. For half the cost you can buy the genuine LR kit and an IID tool and do it yourself. Plus you’ll have an IID tool to read faults, live values etc.
One difference between factory and retro fit divides opinion. With factory fit, there is a valve in the coolant system which means the water heated by the FBH when on timed or remote heat is used to warm the cabin. With a retro fit, no such valve exists and the coolant circulates both the cabin and the engine.
My view is that I want remote heat to help reduce engine wear on start up, so I prefer the retro fit.
Others argue why heat a lump of metal rather than the humans.
It is all a bit moot though as AFAIK you can’t retro fit the valve anyway.
And don’t forget the spare wheel protector!MY16 D4 Graphite in Loire Blue

No joke on the spare wheel protector. £50 or£60 can save you £1,500 for a replacement wheel, tyre and winch.MY16 D4 Graphite in Loire Blue
