GPS signal + Asus R2H + Memory Map

I've got an Asus R2H. (7" touchscreen ultra portable pc) It has a built in GPS receiver.
I want to mount it in the D3 and run Memory Map or Feckarwe on it.
Memory Map is installed.
It also has Ms Autoroute installed.
I can get the GPS working with Autoroute, but not with MemoryMap.

Why? Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

Theres no information (that I can find) about the GPS receiver, but in Autoroute it's on Com1 and I think set to NMEA baud 4800 (standard sort of settings)

All help & advice etc etc....

Thanks BM, I'm not entirely sure what they are saying on there, but I suspect installing GPSGate is going to solve my problems - It did for my previous PDA setup.
It would seem that different bits of software don't seem to like sharing the same com port info.

Wish I understood all this, cos it would make life a lot easier.

Even better, I wish we could use fugawi or mm on the LR nav unit.

Dave,

not mucked about with this sort of stuff for a few years myself but from memory when installed on devices with less than 'full' versions of OS's ie Windows CE/pocketPC/Tablet etc... if you install one app that makes use of a certain piece of hardware like a GPS, when you then unistall or install another app on top that wants that bit too it all gets a bit confused and then goes into 'sulk' mode Rolling Eyes and then needs a kick up the Censored by another program to get it back into life again. this was one of the problems i had with early versions of TomTom and similar programs on PDA's. I used GPSassist I think then to help get it sorted...

I've just installed GPSGate on it, and both programs (Autoroute & MemoryMap) are now as happy as pigs in poo Razz

I'm back in business.

Now comes the expensive part ... off to RAM mounts for the R2H cradle + mounting arms.

No, velcro is all used up on the DVD installation Laughing
- actually works incredibly well, we have a Polaroid portable DVD with a swivel screen, velcro'd on to the top of the centre cubby = happy bunny in the back Thumbs Up
