A grand day out

Just got back home. Left here at 0700 this morning and drove to KEN2463 to purchase and fit his expedition roofrack. Thx to Slimer for turning up to help too.

From there, drove up to Melton Mowbray to purchase CliffH's Cooper STT shod wheels. Then home again.

Despite the warnings, I don't find the roof rack much noisier than the cross bars I had on.

410 miles all in. It was just starting to snow a bit on the very tps of the Peak District, but nothing worth getting excited about.

I sometimes wonder what Kens neighbours think he gets up to...

Last time I was there was to fit a roof rack... Slimer came too... Wink

(and apart from the fastest trip around the block I have EVER had, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience!)

I think Kens next door neighbours must be used to him by now.

I noticed the fella next door staring at me as I was bolting a bit onto the roof of my car. He had a sort of resigned blank look on his face Confused

Anyway, the Thames will burst its banks this evening, Ken was emptying his pool into the drains Wink No more water shortage.

Now to a relative noobie, this suggests Ken is "da man" for snide expo racks.

Can I have one please? Smile
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

loving this thread as much as all the others - but am interested in locating racks of the nature discussed. I believe they will serve me well for transporting copious amounts of alcohol back from the continent this summer!

Where (other than LR) can I get hold of one at a reasonable cost ?
