Couple of pics from this afternoon, just had a long hot wander around the old town, in there ordering t-shirts. Well would be rude not to.

Did I say the Vietnamese have taste and no D5s? I spoke too soon as this hotel uses one as a courtesy car. Thud Whistle

And the local speciality coffee. Think serval coffee but via weasels. Shocked I’ll stick to Nespresso thank you. Whistle

Glad to hear it, as is SWMBO who has become an avid follower of this thread. Not sure why but might be in case of what I say re her. Whistle

Off on food tour of Hoi An tomorrow am, just my kind of tour. Will no doubt have some pics of the local nosh for peeps to enjoy over their cornflakes and/or porridge. For only the second time on the entire jolly we’ll be eating in the hotel tonight as the cold I had (though I wasn’t allowed to call it a cold) has mutated big time and is currently resident in SWMBO. Hell hath no fury like someone with a SWMBO cold. Seeing if a Mojito helps. Purely for research purposes. Thumbs Up

Sorry, been a bit remiss at updating but not that much to update and believe it or not, no pics!!😱

Had a great food tour this morning, over 40 items and virtually all scrummy. Now a bit more confident on the local nosh, plus tried the “fresh beer” which is brewed that day, and is really nice in a light way. Plus at 4,000d (13p for decent sized glass) it’s very nicely priced.

SWMBO still has a cold, and now knows it’s a major social no-no to blow your schnoze in Vietnam!! We are also clearer re rules of the road, they are there but no-one pays any notice of them. Chaos theory in motion but it all works. After a fashion. The place would be gridlocked if all those scooters & bikes were cars. Also the phrase “if you’re not confused you don’t know what’s going on” was used a good few times.

More later, happy hour calls. Thumbs Up

Shame SWMBO doesn’t like beer. Whistle Note ice in the beer, weird but getting used to it. Cheers Thumbs Up
