GSM operated FBH sim card question |
|
Hi,
I have had the gsm conversion by TFC which allows me to dial the FBH on cold days - it's excellent, so no problems there. However, this week I dialled the car and got the 'call failed' message on my phone. So i try to log into my Vodaphone account and see what's going. After not being able to get into the account I send vodaphone an email enquiring what's wrong. It transpires that because I was using a pay as you go sim card and that sim card had not made any calls in 6 months they had disconected the number and had kept the credit that was on the phone! Aparently this is normal practise. They said that they had sent me a text message but strangley the D3 had not replied, so they cut me off.
So my question is what have others done to avoid this? It seems my options are:
1. buy another sim card (as Vodaphone won't reactivate the number)
2. get a cheap sim only deal under contract - but with which provider/ who's the cheapest?
any thoughts/ideas gratefully appreciated, thanks!

Just had the same issue myself !

Does this 'text every few months' work?
I understood that you had to make a voice call.

If TFC fitted it, like mine, you'll have a Dial to Open box.
For signal strength reply from the D3, text this message to the number:
#PWD123456#CSQ?
