GVIF unit

Hi devonchilliman,

I have recently had he HIDS GVIF unit and reversing camera on their forum offer price. I then added 2 x Blackvue's, one front and one in the rear window.

I did look at a wireless camera also for the same reason as you, in the horse trailer, but eventually bought a TV which is coupled to run on the sat nav screen and the rear videos on the rear headrests.

GVIF is a Brilliant piece of kit and was fitted by Bodsy for me as I am non-technical these days on complex vehicles such as the D3.

Many have fitted them and if you know what you are doing with taking off trim etc it looks okay!

The setup so far

The GVIF unit sits under the front passenger seat on my setup. From it I run:

The reversing camera that replaces the number plate light that I ordered wih the GViF. This is a HIDS kit and gat quality.
A Blackvue camera on the front windscreen.
And a Blackvue in the rear window.
Also a CKO twin tuner TV DVD combo etc.

These all work in the sat nav screen and I can select them / view them off a remote supplied with he GVIF

I think I could still add a wireless camera to the system to go in the horse trailer, but need some advice on that. Look for Bodsy who did this work as well as my light upgrades and the Traxide with auxillary battery.

Hope that helps

Sorry

I have visitors this evening so brief moments on the forum. I will find the link for you that I had for a wireless camera that I was told could be connected to the GVIF rather than a seperate screen?

Then it could,be viewed via the satnav screen. I have link on my laptop but using ipad at present, will forward when I can tomorrow.

SWMBO really wants it done for Spring before horse events. A wire version could be done via an Anderson connector, but I was worried I would forget unplug it!

Hi.
I'm also using the GVIF unit with rear cam connected. I'm planning to put a camera on my trailer. The problem is that when car is in reverse, the GVIF unit is locked in reverse picture, and i cant find a way to switch to one of the AV inputs. Is there a setting in the GVIF unit that allows to show a picture from AV input when the car is in reverse? Question
