GVIF installed but no audio

Just fitted a GVIF from Hids4u and a DVB TV tuner to my D4 but I have no audio.

I assumed the instructions would be poor and they were of course !
All that they do is outline some of the connections and they really don't do a good job of that at all.

Anyway, so I followed 'bellautos' install guide on here Thumbs Up and few other more complete parts guides from the Web.

Went in fairly straight forwardly and I get a great picture on AV1 but just no audio.
I do a fair amount of SMD work and hobby electronics so I'm pretty sure its all hooked up correctly and I had no issues fitting the board and ribbon cables behind the NAV screen Smile just no audio Evil or Very Mad

I've also tried feeding it audio from an iPhone directly but still no joy.
Normal audio via Radio, DAB, ipod and NAV audio all work correctly.

Anyone have any experience of this unit or suggestions of things I could try Question

One other thing.
I did connect the CAN bus wires but NAV select doesn't appear to select the GVIF.
I still have to use the manual select button which switches to AV1 irrespective of whether I'm on the NAV screen or not. I didn't think that was supposed to happen but its fine with me it just doesn't work as expected. The polarity in all of the diagrams looks wrong to me but I didn't want to blow something so went with the guides.

Did so more digging and found another post here :

"FFRR - No Sound From Gvif interface"
http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic70091.html

...which seems to indicate that I need to tap in to AUX in, is that correct Embarassed

Good news is that does work, but if you have to go via that route, what are the 3 sets of L & R audio outputs coming out of the GVIF for ?

The unit has 3 individually selectable AV outputs, AV1-AV3 each with L & R audio + composite video, which seems like a hell of a lot of wasted cables i.e. 6 x L & R audio leads that don't seem to do anything Confused

Anyone know ?

Cheers

It goes where others don't.
