Installed the manual switch couple of days ago, works great.
@Matthieup
To which video plug did you connect the camera? Did you connect the grey of the GVIF to the +12 of the reverse light?
It should come up automatically when you select reverse on the gearbox.
You cannot select the camera input with the push switch.
To test it you can connect the video wire to any other video input, select reverse to power the camera and then select it with the GVIF switch

Got mine fully installed a couple of weeks back and the only issue I had was with the dip switches, in that by default, when you turned the car on, it defaulted to AV1, and when you hit reverse, it turned on the sat nav, quick change of the dip switches on the unit and it was all sorted... although the very first time I tried it, was with someone stood right beside/behind the car, so when I hit reverse, I heard a noise as well as the sat nav coming on... hadn't driven the car in a week or so before that and had forgotten about the reversing sensors
Actually... something that's maybe not completely explained in the "How to" is just how feckin' hard it was to push the video cable thru' the ducting from the boot lid to the body of the car... it took me a lot longer to do that part than I thought it would have (the power cable went thru' quick enough obviously).

@flydive
To rule out the camera I disconnected it and ran a few extensions to test a reliable AV source (xbox) on all AV inputs and I get the same result (white screen with a few black lines that look like noise).

Hi all,
I'm going to do this install hopefully somewhere next week.
Could some of you who have done this pls post a picture of where you put the toggle button for the audio sources (if you have installed this)? Im still a bit puzzled where it will look and work best.
TIA,

@Biz : if this cable was faulty surely it would affect the sat nav picture. no?

Yes, it would, you are correct.
With my unit at least, the dip settings are as per the guide and it all works perfectly.
The appearance of a white screen whit black (vertical?) lines is not something I have come across before on the GVIF but to me suggests a problem with the video feed.
As a further suggestion, I recommend you swap from connecting to the yellow RCA (which is the video feed) to connecting to one of the other two (white or red); please use a known good video source (i.e. test the signal on a normal TV) so you are sure the cable you use is the video one.
I have come across cables that were "mislabelled", in the sense that yellow was the right audio channel instead of video That may be the case here...

I would check:
1. Dip switches, that they are in correct position as per guide.
2. Connection between GVIF and NAV/DVD player, check they are correct input-output plugs, it easy to swap them, I did that when I first installed it. Try to swap them around

for the dip switches I followed the guide...
for the sat nav cable, if you swap the 2 ends you have a no sat nav available on the screen...

Only 30mins... I took a lot longer than that... mind you, that was 'cos I started getting annoyed and had to go for a cuppa halfway thru'
Actually, I also managed to slightly damage the video lead as I started getting annoyed and used some pliers to grab the end of it, and managed to nip the end of it off... thought I'd need to change the cable, but it all works fine thankfully

All,
Just an update. My white screen issue has been fixed thanks to Gregory @ carsolutions (where i bought the unit from).
It seems to be a known issue with the cable between unit and sat nav (doesn't affect sat nav though) where the little red and yellow wires have to be swapped on the connector...

@IainC : I do have the exact same problem as you now, i.e. it automatically goes to AV1 when I start the car. Can you let me know how you've fixed it?

You've got the dip switches wrong. I deliberately looked at them when I got the unit and they looked wrong based on the document on here so I'd changed them. Basically resetting them back the way it arrived sorted it
Can't remember the two dip switches offhand but they should be on the install doc on here.
