GVIF v2 and Reversing Camera for 199.99

The box full of the V2 GVIF units arrived this week so ready to ship out. There are only 50 then they are all gone.

They have same functions as the 6.2 and look the same. The remote is just a little bigger

This is set up you need to retrofit reversing camera to allow you to get the image on your sat nav screen when you select reverse (without going into hidden menu) and it also allows you to add tv or dvd image to the screen

Hello Ian,
my wife has a LR Freelander II (MY 09). Can this GVIF unit be used to connect a rear view cam to it's sat nav screen ? Is a camera that fits in the number plate light also included ?

Thanks

Hi Ian,

Is this something that can be done DIY or is a vehicle electrician needed?

Thanks

Thanks Tony glad in and working
I have managed to upload the manual with the help of chocolademan Thumbs Up
Its in my signature and here to save you looking http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/use...une_11.pdf

I finally added (or should i say had it done) the front number plate surround with forward facy sony ccd camera. its a great image a tad low if i am honest but ideal for off roading and seeing down the hill in front and does do a good job of seeing how close to the car wall in front you are. will post images - just waiting to get a new phone as i lost mine with the pictures on it Sad

Regards
Ian

Hey Ian (or anybody else),

I received last week the GVIF box.
Tried to install it today but it doesn't seem to work as specified in the manual you provided.
javascript:emoticon('Big Cry')

I can't toggle between the different AV modes. If the Dip-Switches set 1 and 7 ON all the rest of, I get or Sat-Nav
or the AV1 input if it was connected when activating the key of the car.

I have the impression it's due to the REV2 features.
I found a manual specific for the GVIF-07 REV2 box on the net and their they specify some different fitting-instructions:
the Orange power cable should be connected to Ignition active (I-Drive)
the CAN-BUS must be connected white to yellow and yellow to green (resp from GVIF to the Car CAN-BUS)
the dip switches are specified as follows:
#PIN Operating when turn DIP S/W on
1 NAVI INPUT MUTE 􀃆 Skipping NAVI Mode.
2 A/V 1 MUTE 􀃆 Skipping A/V 1
3 A/V 2 MUTE 􀃆 Skipping A/V 2
4 A/V 3 MUTE 􀃆 Skipping A/V 3
5 On : For Lexus Off : For Land Rover
6 On : For original Navi, (OEM screen)
7 When to choose rear mode (ON : CVBS4, OFF : MAIN)
8 N.C

So for testing (disregarding rev-cam for the moment) only switch 6 should be ON.

The thing I didn't do so far is connecting the CAN-BUS, which I will try out tomorrow.
But can you help me out with this.

Rgds,

Peter

Hey Ian,

Another thing I just noticed. The remote control I received is the small one from the GVIF 6.1 version and not the bigger one from verson7.
And the reverse camera is not the one with the integrated number plate lights but a default one even without Night vision.

Could you correct the shipment.

Best Regards,

Peter

Peter

Please dont connect the Can Bus - as I recommend in the manual and the site

Please can you email me the version number and ref on the box that you have ianboothib"yahoo.com

The manufacturers manual are normally wrong and they got on and off wrong all the time - hence our manual. The latest version in my footer note - is correct for version 6.2.

I dont have a 2.1 version with me - i am travelling from Poland to the UK at present.

I will reply to your email when it comes through

Regards

Ian

Ordered. Thumbs Up

I also purchased some 'H8' LED bulbs, but was unable to enter the Discount Code for this only, so didn't put it in at all ...
