Hand brake
Last April my hand brake stuck on and wouldn't release. I released it via the manual cable and took it in to be looked at. The expert said I needed a new motor and fitted it for £450.00.
Last week, some 14 months after having the new one fitted, it stuck on again So I disconnected it manually.
I have just come back from the expert again who told me that I need new shoes and cleaned it out. He now tells me that the cables should reconnect and the brake engage after he has run through the diagnostics, however, he says that he has never known one re engage before and that I need another Motor
Has anyone experienced this before as I am looking at a bill now for £750.00

They should always re-engage, provided the clutch mechanicsm hasn't broken.
You can clean them out yourself in the link in my sig.
The key to keeping it working is to adjust fairly regularly and clean it out after off roading. Bodsys Brake Bible

Unless it's knackered, it will - simply apply in the normal way and it should re-engage.
Incidentally, it appears that several dealerships can't adjust the parking brake correctly, leading to 'the screamer' and jamming. Follow the procedure correctly, and it works fine ...Regards,

Cheers Spooky. They have told me that it is knackered and possibly down to the number of times that they tried to re-engage it?
I have now had two new drums, one pair of shoes and a new actuator fitted, totalling £1,056.05
I think I may contact LR to see if I can get any joy on a refund for the actuator??
I know the answer by the way What a life ) a pint of cask and a sunny day, made up???
