Handbrake / Cruise Control Failure |
|
Hi
Two days ago my hand brake would not come on or release on the lever, I got the normal flashing red light and a steady amber which disappeared after the car went to sleep and restarted. lucky I have auto release on my manual D3 so the handbrake comes off when I pull away and comes on when I take the key out of the ignition.
Today my Cruise Control has disappeared could this be related, if so where do I start. I have ordered a new handbrake switch as a first port of call.
Thanks in advance
Paul

Hi, You really need to look at your fault codes. Was the handbrake making a noise before it failed? An IID tool is essential for this car.

Hi
No the handbrake was not making a noise, the only thing I can think of, it went for its MOT last week
and passed.
They told me that they have to check the Brakes on the road test, which means the hand brake as well.
They drive the car at 20mph then pull the handbrake lever up slowly which applies the brake.
