31k on a 2005 nice one mate
Mind if I ask how much, you don't have to answer that I'm just curious, good low mileage though hope you have as much pleasure from yours as I regularly get from mine
I'm assuming by aux heater they mean the webasto fuel burning heater that fires up below 5 degrees temp and pre heats the engine thus extanding it's life and providing you with warm air in the cabin much faster.
You can get a timer to fire it up when the car is off so you can pre heat the car prior to going out to it on cold days, just search the forum for it. I don't have time to hunt the link for you but some kind soul will you watch
Edit ok I took the time it's available from Pete at Bell Auto Systems (one of the site sponsors) http://bellautoservices.co.uk/
I'm gonna get one one the finances get back up to scratch

And while you are fresh in the salesman's eyes, make sure that the FBH is working in its automatic mode 'cos it can be a nuisance to get working.
entry criteria are:
Doors, bonnet and tailgate shut
vehicle level
plenty of fuel in the tank
Outside air temp of 5 deg C or less
engine coolant less than 76 deg C (i.e. cold).
The FBH takes 90 secs or so to get up to full burn so you are best off starting it at home with the windows open and then walk round to the front of the car. Once it's up and running, there is a smell of kerosene and a sound like a little jet engine (which is what it is ). Don't be concerned about a LOT of white smoke
On early models, if the FBH tried to kick into life because the temp was low, but failed due to failing the fuel and attitude criteria outlined above, the controlling software only allowed three attempts before locking the FBH out for ever. Your FBH is highly likely to have been sat there doing nowt for several years so it may need some encouragement...
Unlocking it is easy, but it needs specialist software tools to do it.
There are a number of options available to wrestle manual control of the FBH from the vehicle computer - the choice depends on the type of control your FBH needs. Early models used a "12V out" control while later models use a Webasto version of the CanBus called "W Bus" Club missing my D3
