hazards flash car wont lock on remote dash lit

hi gang as above but when press foot brake all ok .

car drives fine


take it is the foot brake switch at fault.

thanks mate have checked the side lights and they seem ok . at moment got brake pedal depressed with a length of wood between pedal and seat so I can lock it ,but if take pressure of foot brake with key out hazards flash and dash lights up and a load of faults show up on iid .


will get a switch tomorrow from land ranger in stockport if they have one and go from there.

Hazards flashing is usually canbus related, but the brake peddle switch can cause some strange things.

I had this on a Fabia once, the wiring loom was sat on the brake pedal switch wiring, and it was interfering enough to make the comfort module think it was receiving a signal from the hazard switch.

Perhaps time to check for corrosion and or dampness in the Transmission control unit main plug. Behind battery tray.

yes thought i had posted the outcome but obviously hadn't on this thread.
outcome for me was water in the connections behind battery found water disconnected connectors and sprayed with WD 40 and then switch cleaner.

just as Gareth said damp transmission control unit behind battery try

all has been ok scene then
