United Kingdom 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Zermatt SilverDiscovery 3
HDC Fault System unavailable......

Sure this one has been seen by many owners, many times before . . .

So possible causes? I've worked my way through all of the usual suspects:

Battery has been checked out and is holding and pushing out a sound charge.
Has also been tested with a new battery on loan.

New 150A Denso alternator fitted.

New brake switch fitted (10 minutes to remove panel and fit the switch,
35 minutes to get the panel back in place and screwed down).

After these three were worked through the fault message still pops up
each time the engine is started. Ideas? The Indy who did some work for
me over the last couple of days had a full electronic check done. Nothing
obvious there. He has said he's only seen one instance where this fault
wasn't resolved with a new battery and that one was cured after a new
starter motor was fitted.

What about the chip that controls the HDC function - could this be at fault?

Parking Assist is intermittent and doesn't always come on when
reverse is selected (manual trans).

Had a single incidence of the amber park break fault light come on
in the past week (after driving through heavy rain and puddles).
Nothing since.

That's it...

If you clear them and drive the car for 5 or 10 mins then read again and post the results back here!
