headlight upgrade on GS
The oem headlight performance on my MY11GS is dreadful. I had to stop the car and check the lights were actually working....
What is the best/ most cost effective (2 questions) way of improving performance?

I used Osram Nightbreakers on my 12MY GS big improvement, some members have had problems with the bulbs blowing but mines were fine for the year they were fitted.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Cheers J77 I'll have a look.
Anyone else got any advice? Main beam and DRL/ sidelights.
Undoubtedly a FAQ but how much would an HSE fairly light upgrade be?

I paid around £280 from eBay for my HSE Xenons. Coupled with some ££ back if you sell yours make it a reasonable upgrade cost. Just an update to your ccf and you are away Stolen - D4 Loire Blue

I upgraded my standard halogens to the xenon with fairy lights. I paid £250 each. I have put nightbreakers in the high beam though just to be a bit whiter and brighter next to the xenons. I haven't seen the results yet as I'm waiting for the second one to arrive but I know they will be a vast improvement. Now with: Tow bar & storage, Xenon's, Remote Timed Climate, Mood Lighting, Cubby Fridge, DRL's & Mud Flaps
Accessories: Rubber Mats, Spare Wheel Cover, LR Tyre Pressure Gauge, Warning Triangle, LED's throughout & Leather Gear Selector Top
Further Planned retrofits: 13 pin Tow Electrics & Heated Steering Wheel

CCF
Its the Custom Configuration File that tells your car what options and features are installed. These can be edited by LR at a cost or by some friendly local members for a pint with an IIDTool or similar that often turn up here on group buys.
Here is a link to some ccf options that you can play around with.
In your case, if you found some HSE Xenons you'd need to edit the CCF file to say you've got them installed so that the car sends more juice to the lights to power them up.
