Heated Steering Wheel

Hi All,

Been a long term member of Defender2.net and just purchsed a MY12 D4 HSE.

Question i have is will a 2016 Landmark Heated steering wheel fit on a MY12 D4.

My My12 has everything on the steering wheel now (Paddles, Cruise, phone etc except heated) and hoping i can swap it straight on.

I have read loads on this forum and confused my self as MY12 seems to be a transfer over for ceratin things so just want to be clear.

you will need a heated wheel clock spring, it may already be fitted, plus you will need to get it enabled, a local forum sponsor should be able to do that for you or perhaps if you have an iid tool you may be able to

Thank you for the quick response, the wheel i am looking at comes with the clock spring as well so thats covered, i have just ordered a IIDTool so should be able to enable once it arrives.

I was worried that it might have the wrong ECU in the switch pack but happy to know it will be ok.

Heated steering wheel doesn't need any CCF editing as far as I know.
You only need to supply a power feed via the appropriate clock spring as the heated wheel will have its own switch ( you might need to ensure it comes with one ).

If that's not right, like a man in an orthopaedic shoe, I'll stand corrected. Wink

Definitely needs enabling. I ordered mine with one, but LR forgot it, dealers couldn’t enable it so had to get DM down to enable it in the dealers!

Fitted clockspring and wheel to my 2014 car and did not need to edit ccf. However the wheel did come from a 2014 car so maybe that’s why.

Hi. I feel you will need a wheel no later than 2012.
Too many older Land Rovers to mention

I think there have been a few threads where a 2016 wheel will not work on a 2012 i think it's can bus speeds and the heated ecu in the wheel is different so you need to get a 2012 ecu and fit it but by the time you find one you may as well sell the wheel you have and buy a 2012 or see if anyone wants to swap Thumbs Up
