Heated wheel. switch fault?

About a month ago I fitted a heated steering wheel and has worked perfectly until this weekend Big Cry
Journey out flicked the button and hot wheel. Journey home after being parked for half an hour or so turned on heated wheel and just as it was getting hot it turned off. Turned it on again and after about 10 seconds it turned off again, I turned it on again and almost instantly went off again and now nothing. It is still illuminated when headlights are on so im happy it still has power to the switch. Also my thoughts are that there is nothing to go wrong with the wheel its self as just an element inside it.
Has anyone else had a similar issue? or help with diagnosis? Thumbs Up

Thanks
Drew

I've pretty much got the same issue - worked when fitted, then worked a little intermittently.....now just won't turn on!

- will be interested to see if anyone has any ideas.

I had exactly what you are describing and it turned out to be the clockspring (rotating slip ring). I bought mine from Ebay and did not last very long at all. Better to buy a genuine one from LR. The fact that it is illuminated does not mean that the switch itself is getting power as the illumination is on a different feed.

Hope this helps.

It was an Ebay heated clock spring Big Cry . That will teach me for looking for a bargain. It will be going back to seller for a refund.
