Heater blowing cold on one side |
|
Hi, I'm having trouble with my heater on the passenger side only blowing cold. I've plugged the iid tool in and there are no codes for the heater and the left side blender actuator seems to be working. Any help will be greatly appreciated thank you.

Is the heater on the driver's side working OK?
The passenger side heater is dependent on the driver's side temperature setting in that the passenger side can only have a difference of 4 degrees from the driver's side.
So if the driver's side is set to 18 degrees the passenger side will not get any hotter than 22 degrees. Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector

Ye there is heat on the drivers side that gets really hot while the passenger side feels like the air con is running. So a little chilly for my passengers at the moment.

I did a trip down to the Alps and Dolomites recently in an 1966 Triumph 2000. Although a well used and sorted car, on the way down through France, we found that under prolonged hard load (gradients or motorway cruising), the car started to overheat. Dropping the speed/load brought the temp back down again. Eventually we realised that the rad was silted up.
Removing the thermostat and borrowing hosepipes at our various overnight accommodations helped but didn't cure. Having got to the start of the steep wiggly bits on day 3, we were a little worried so bought 3L of Coca Cola from a local supermarket, drained the rad in the hotel car park, blocked off the bottom hose with a poly bag, refilling the rad with the cola and retired to the bar leaving it to soak overnight!
Next morning we drained and refilled with water. By the time we got to the top of the first pass, we had to stop and put the thermostat back in as the engine just would not warm up! The rest of the trip was trouble free. Not such a Disco Newbie now!

Oh lovely 😂 do you know of any workshop manuals on how to replace it? Or does the whole heater box have to come out line the Haynes manual says?

I finally got around to doing the matrix and unfortunately, that was fine it's actually the Blend/mixer door itself that is broken which I'm guessing is why the iid tool didn't read a fault. Unfortunately after looking on the internet and phoning around it appears you can't just buy the door it's a whole heater box replacement.

Hey there I’m new to this site and Land Rover ownership! Although I do seem to have the air con or difference in temp fault as mentioned above, wondering if you managed to sort it? Don’t really want to replace the whole thing if I can find a cheaper option to repair said part. Many thanks!
