Heater function
I have a MY15 D4 and I am new to the Land Rover Discovery, however I cannot seem to get the vehicle to a reasonable temp and hold it there. In previous vehicles I set it on 23 degrees full auto and almost never have to touch it. With the D4 I find that I cannot get the temp to regulate properly. Even at 28 degrees I have a cold spot around my knees and upper legs, hands get cold and feels like sitting in a draft. been into the dealer and they changed the "balance motor?".
Is this normal or can anyone suggest where I am going wrong - ave journey is normally 1 hr

Mine was supposed to have been fixed but is still having the problems you describe. Long journey today. Only way to stay warm was intermittent manual fan on HI. Not happy.

Cheers for the replies,
I had mine in the dealers and a technician sat in the vehicle with me and I talked him through everything that I have tried. They are going to change the thermostat in the cab and if that doesn't cure it his only suggestion was to replace the E-vac unit?
Journey home tonight, around an hour on full auto at 26, feet were hot upper legs and hands still cold and outside temp 9 degrees so it may be something to do with the external sensor as described in other posts.
Not holding out much hope for a result though

i think there is a tech bulletin about this problem. Something to do with the sealing foam between the interior temp sensor and the hole in the facia where it takes the cabin air temp from. Mine is booked in on 9 Dec for the fault

Heater issues Disco 4
So after 15 months of back and forth with the dealerships they have finally said the cold curtain that sits between the top of the drivers seat and the middle of the steering wheel there is nothing wrong!
I have had a new HEVAC unit, they reset the outside temp so it reads the same as other vehicles, software updates and re-balancing the vents. I had it booked in last week and was told when I arrived that they had the same issues wth another Disco 4 and LR technical have now said this is just a characteristic of the Disco 4. It’s not a fault that when set on automatic temp at 23 it will blow cool air after 20-30 mins driving and after an hour or so my hands frozen.
Cheers LR!!!

Not one of LR's finer achievements. Basically saying "b er off and don't annoy us, we've got better things to be doing than give you heating that actually works". It's not rocket science.
