heater interlock

heater interlock






using webasto thermo test i have uncovered 2 faults
1 overheat and 2 heater unit interlocked
i have tried to clear but operating state remains as heater interlock
volts are 12.5 and temp reads 140 degrees celcius
any suggestions on how to clear this interlock

Try pulling the fuse for 30 secs and see if it will change anything, but judging by the dtc's you might have a faulty temperature sensor, or overheat sensor.

thanks for the reply,i have tried pulling fuse for various amounts of time
pulled all three plugs and reinstalled
purchased thermo test software in hopes of clearing interlock
does not seem to clear it
will not run as the temp is fixed at 140 degrees c i assume

140degrees celcius was the temp in the heater when it did cut out!

Mostly due too lack of coolant / level to low, so the waterpump is sucking air, not fluid..

Webasto points that also out in their manuals




Solution:

Start it with your software (since you have no clock i presume) an THEN pull the fuse.




Edit; in a D3 it is the fuse, the PROFSR G points to Wink

Yes I had a coolant leak that I caught too late
The problem is that it will not start with software because of the 140 degree reading
I have tried all fuse pulling techniques
I do have a timer but is ineffective with this
Overheat interlock
I think because it is permanently reading 140 it will not accept any attempt at starting
And will not clear this fault
Was hoping someone had a solution for this
Peculiar problem

forgot to mention,the two faults in pic will clear but not the interlock state
when i pull webasto fuse and reinsert it the two faults come back
also heater has not operated for a month due to these faults
i just recieved testing software yesterday and this is what i found

I had a similar problem which was a faulty sensor.
Did replace it but can’t remember where I got it from. The replacement only lasted about six months and I ended up swapping the whole fbh out for a good used one.

The price for the two sensors and shipping to Canada is significantly more than just buying a new used unit
I installed a generic circuit board from Eastern Europe in a tt vevo works very well
Installed this on my Volvo penta kad 43 boat build
Maybe I’ll go this rout for my Land Rover
