Heavy electrical short circuit?? |
|
Hi
Last week my '09 D3 suffered a flat battery, recovered it to home after reading only 11.5 v when running. Stuck it on charge overnight with my trusty Ctek charger, but was much the same the next morning. So now I have a new battery, yet two days later - the same. I was recovered again but it took a bit longer as my car managed to drain the breakdown guys battery pack, so he had to call for assistance. When they eventually got it back they suggested that there was a massive short somewhere - probably the alternator failed or possibly the starter as they both handle the most currents. So, two questions;
1. does this sound likely (haven't read anything similar on here)?
2. How do I test for this?
Sorry if i'm a bit ABC here, but thats why I'm asking you guys!
Thanks in advance
Matt

Thanks guys, JGS 4x4 look reasonable, I’ll get one ordered so it’s there for the weekend. 👍
