Hello from New Disco 3 Owner in Australia |
|
My dear husband always talked very highly about Land Rovers and late in August last year, we finally bought a Disco 3. He had his dream Disco 3 for 6 days before he had an AVM (sort of like an aneurism) and sadly passed away 26 days later. I'm so glad he had those 6 days where he felt so proud to drive it around. He went to our local auto shop on Father's Day and bought a whole bag of cleaning gear and spent the day washing and cleaning the D3 (I remember it rained the next morning!). I'm sure he would have spent every weekend giving it a wash and clean, keeping it showroom shiny!
This is the first website I have come across so far and it looks quite interesting. I now have to find out what all those buttons and switches do, as I left all that to my husband originally.
What a beautiful 4WD they truly are - I can see why he fell in love with the Land Rover.
Hope to get some replies back!

Hi Silkcat,
Sorry for your loss.
As you may have noticed, this is a great, worldwide, family. Welcome to it.
Timely and conscientious serving is the key for these vehicles. Who is doing this for you in Mt Isa?
Best Wishes,

Hi again,
It's great to hear back from you guys and it's comforting to know that there's such wonderful support whenever I have any queries.
My Disco 3 is a late 2006 model, with a 2007 upgrade (I'm not really sure what that includes!) and it's a TDV6 SE Auto in a Tonga Green colour. The lady who was the original owner kept the car immaculate. It's only done 66,000 km, with the last 3,000 km clocked up since the last service in June last year.
Mount Isa is a beautiful small mining city with a population of around 22,000 people. We are in the outback 1,000 kms away from our nearest major city of Townsville where our nearest Land Rover dealership is located. I have booked the next service (72,500 km) on Tuesday with one of our local mechanics who has serviced Land Rovers in the past.
Thank you all for welcoming me into your family!!!!! It really means a lot to me.
