Help needed on removing interior dash/ central console |
|
Hi All,
I've been pulling the guts of of the dash and central consol to try out an idea I've had, and can get all the bits out using help from previous threads, these basically include the first 'H' shaped peice, the ventalition control section.
Then we get to the 12Vdc socket section, it wont pop out all the way as the bottom peice restricts it, and this is restricted by the centre console, using Irish style I gave it a good old yank and the front section popped up but the rear section refuses to budge, I removed the screw around the EPB switch, and can find no more screws to remove,
What am I not doing right Need to get this sorted as I driving around in a D3 with no dash at this stage, its more like a MAD MAX 4x4 than my refined D3
I have not undone anything as far back as the cubby box as I rather hoped this was not involved in the strip down, but if needs must
Thanks in advance for any advice given

The centre console top is removed by undoing the screw behind the EPB switch and pulling up on the gear knob and removing it. The rest just pulls up with a good tug ( same clips as the dash) You can then get the ash tray/ Acc sockets out. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Just a tip regarding gearknob removal.
If it's a manual unscrew the gearknob but if auto pull straight up.
Do not twist if you have an auto gearknob. Kevin
