Help, please car will not start
Hi
I have tried to wire the auxillary power sockets to be permanently live by removing the relay. the only trouble is the car will not start now!
have checked the fuses and all seem fine.
the panels light up, everything works till you go to start it - nothing.

Does it start after replacing the relay?

did you try and put a link wire in ?
Open up the fuse box next to the battery ...there are some fuseable links in there ...check those
Like these ..top right hand corner
Oh ..and just so we know ..which relay did you remove ?G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hi
many thanks for the replies.
the relay was R1 in the glove box fuse board.
on replacing the relay the instrument panel does not light up.
have checked all the fuses in the engine bay and these are all fine.
many thanks,
Jamie

had to waggle it out.
the fuse to the instrument panel blew which has since been replaced. can not remember what number it was but it was right down at the bottom.
link wire as first put in correctly placed side ways instead of top to bottom.

oh dear
Have you checked for voltage across the top and botom pins?
I still suspect the fuseable link in the battery fuse box ...you cannot always look and see ..you would need to pull them out and do a continuity test between the 2 terminals .
Cant remember which one of the top of my head ..but check the red 50 amp ones first ...thats assuming you have no power at the 2 relay terminalsG4 Gone ...but not forgotten
