Some Help please , intermittent loss of power

Hi i have a 2005 discovery 3 with 80k , car is 1 previous owner with full service history . Whilst towing caravan or going up hill the car power drops off sharply and goes into limp mode, after switching on and off all ok . Car runs great normally with only a small puff of black under heavy pedal. The car has had EGR removed . There are no lights on dash and my cheap code reader shows no faults . I suspect over boosting under load or stuck actuator or vanes driving actuator ? What to you all think ? Any good ways to effectively resolve or is it a turbo strip ? Can it be removed easily? Any advice welcome cheers Dave

I just cured my ESF whilst towing issue with a bottle of Turbo cleaner in the fuel. I did have fault codes though but for £25 it is worth a try.
