Help!! am i being taken for a mug
I Purchase a D3 last week (2006 Plate - 91K miles) got told by the dealer that it had an air suspension fault and new one to be fitted on Monday, 3 days later informed that it wasn't an easy job (3 - 4 hrs) but the fault light is still on.
They now tell me that its just a case of charging the battery to remove the fault - is this true or does the D3 need a hard reset and or suspension calibrating or possibly something else - any help is appreciated.

I’m assuming it’s the compressor that’s been changed if so it could just need a software update dependant on compressor model. Did they diagnose the correct fault before they carried out the work?2016 RR Sport Autobiography

I suspect that this might not be correct, but there's little to loose if you charge the battery for the next 24-48 hours.
If the fault's still there, you could then maybe ask for a new battery, to see how that effects things!
More seriously, if you can get the codes read it might help. Maybe complete your forum profile with more details, there could be someone local to you who could assist in that respect.
Has the car a full service history; the belts should have been changed (? twice?) by now.

Thanks guys for the comments.... Last belt change @82.5K, FSH. I have seen comments regarding software update following replacement of compressor but the dealers haven't mentioned this.
Have they diagnosed the correct fault I guess I'll find out soon (hopefully not while on the motorway at night). I have seen comments on Height adjustment sensor causing fault with the ride height - is this something I should mention before picking it up?
Plan to pick it up this afternoon (unless I get another phone call delaying collection) and will check for any codes registered - will update

Is this an LR (or LR independent) dealer....?
Either way - they should know exactly what is needed with a compressor change and have the right diagnostic tool to determine the relevant fault codesMY2008 D3 - It got me hooked...gone

Don't let them fob you off, only collect it if no faults are present. If it only needs a charge then let them do it, somehow I very much doubt a charge will fix it although I have been known to be wrong before!Stu

Apologies for not responding (been away for a few days), finally got the car back from the independent dealer and the air suspension seems to hold although compared to my old RR the suspension seems a bit "hard".
Just noticed that if I set off quickly (desperately trying to avoid oncoming traffic) at a roundabout the rear left passenger wheel seems to "lock up" (judders severely) although this is intermittent and has only happened 3 times has anyone please got any idea on cause before I take it back to the dealer.
I'll add they seem confident with the car and sold it with 16months warranty but id hate to have it spend the next 16 months in the workshop.

The juddering could be sticking brake caliper, it’s quite a common fault. Is the centre of the wheel hot to touch after it’s been driven for a bit?

Hi Pete199, now you mention it the wheel has felt quite warm compared to the others but not being clued up on the D3 I didn't give it much thought.
The dealer has asked me to bring it in on Monday, if confirmed is it a straight forward job of replacing the brake caliper and should these be done in pairs?

Thank Guys, it appears the wheel alignment was out quite badly (not sure what would have caused that). the dealer had the work done and so far no repeat of the "wheel locking" experienced earlier.
