I have a manual D3 so this doesn't affect me but if I'm reading this correctly there is hesitation after taking your foot off the brake. I was checking my lights today and noticed that when I take my foot off the brake pedal there can be a noticeable delay before the brake lights go out, around a second. Could something like that be contributing to the hesitation problem in autos.

I aiways feel like you have to push through a little spongy bit on the pedal pulling out. Mines an 05 D3. I'll see if i can pin it down to when exactly it happens.
I understand a new brake switch fixes a few little niggles?

I've posted in other threads about the "safety feature" of my first D4 that slightest touch of brake pedal killed the revs so if anything had rolled under the pedals, you'd still slow the car down. (receptionist at Williams Jaguar told me that, said she'd had loads of customers thinking they had a fault).
So ... Thinking this through and particularly in regards of the delay for brakelights to go out ... Could it simply need a bit of grease on the pivot for the pedal? .
