Hidden winch in D4
Have fitted a hidden winch in the D4 . I have done this before in a D3 ...but if any ones interested heres some pics .
Hidden winch mount from Uncle Ray ( RLD ) ...top notch stuff ...but you do have to space the hidden mount out by about 16mm to clear the intercooler on a D4 ( not needed on a D3 )
Winch is a Warn XP 9.5 ....got this from DiscoDunc
Winch working , but a bit tatty
heres what it looked like after a clean up
i then gave it a strip down and service ( to be fair it was in pretty good nick inside )
it was then coated in plastidip ...give it a bit of a waterproofing
car stripped down
measuring the hidden winch bracket for spacers
fitting
battery isolator
wired winch connector
front anderson connector (not for winch ...just fitted at the same time ) .Both this and the wired winch connector are mounted so i can remove the grill with no issues
winch solinoid
Lodar winch remote fitted in electric box lid
some wiring
winch leads
sprayed the hawse black
Graphite plasma rope ...not very well wound on as it was peeing it down
quick release number plate and plinth
front anderson through grill
winch control connector through grill
theres a couple of orange strobes in there too ...thought i might aswell fit them while it was all apart
Hope you likeG4 Gone ...but not forgotten
