High Beam Assist Strange Glitch

Hi All,
I've got the High Beam Assist on my D4 HSE, I appreciate it's a bit "marmite" after reading some other posts on here but mine works well 90% of the time and I quite like it. I'll turn it off when night driving on motorways or dual carriageways but other than that it's on.

I do however have one weird glitch; there is one place on my way home from work where it insists on switching to main beam despite the fact I'm on a 30mph fully lit road in town with oncoming traffic! It's the only place it ever comes on in error [that I've found], and it's always exactly the same spot. I've kept my speed down to below 30mph, but I just read on here it becomes inactive at 25mph so I'll try that next, but that's not the point.

Anyone have any ideas what may be triggering the main beam on that one section of road? It's got me perplexed! It's no great problem just I hate not knowing why it does it. Cheers.

Yes, same here.

The council put new streetlamps on our road a couple of years ago. They replaced the old traditional yellow sodium lamps with the new eco friendly led lamps that shine down, but don’t waste light by shining sideways.

Ever since then, my D4 HSE Lux with HBA has gone to full beam as I accelerate away from my house! Ok it dips if another car is coming, but the streetlamps certainly made a difference.

The other factor with the LED lamps is they are broad-spectrum compared to the sodium lights. So if the HBA is tuned in any way for the older lights, it will see less of that colour with the LED lighting so may think it's in a darker place ?

And whilst they don't shine as wide a beam, the LEDs are causing more "light pollution" with the broader spectrum … very annoying for star-gazing bods as I understand it.
