Lower steering UJ

So I’ve just changed mine as occasionally it would be a little stiff.

Now the wheel is slightly out, maybe ten degrees or so, any idea how this would be being as there’s nothing to really align when fitting?

I’m wondering if there’s a chance the new part could have a slightly different angle and causing it.

where did you get the lower column? I replaced lower column with cheaper one from ebay and to my surprise it cause large amount of play in steering

swapped back to genuine part and all is back to sharp steering again but had a few scary days

Some fun here -

I had a genuine LR lower column that was faulty from the factory. Confused

is it play due to lower steering column? or suspension steering rack bits?

try tightening lower bolt on the lower colum which is notorious for causing this behaviour if that does not resolve i would look for replacement

lower UJ is mainly problematic attached to steering rack direct on one side and bottom of middle steering column

Painful looking back at the old threads...when TLO could supply the genuine part for under £52.
