LR’s own warranty will accept cars up to 100,000 miles, or 10 years, old. Getting the full 2 years cover for the Approved Used program would have been more of an issue.

I can’t think of any other manufacturer who’d want their dealers selling cars of this age / mileage under similar “Approved” schemes.

To keep things in perspective, if these had been XC90’s, Volvo would be unable to offer any warranty beyond 4 years and 80,000 miles (they should be slaughtered for that), while Audi wash their hands of anything over 5 years and 90,000 miles old - yet it’s LR that usually gets all the stick for “not standing by their cars”, while ex LR people often “fix” LR’s perceived inability to stand by their product indefinitely by buying a XC90, or Q5, in some kind of perverse own goal! I looked at the Cayenne but the issue with Lokasil cylinder-coating failure is in line with the snapped cranks on D3\4 engines.

Which affects V8 petrol engines and is covered by Porsche Warranty unlike the gesture of goodwill gauntlet with LR.

I do wish that every time Kia / Hyundai crowed about their 7 year warranty, they were forced to disclose, with equal emphasis, that there’s a 100,000 mile limitation from 36 months...

Great cover for retirees though Thumbs Up

Hyundai are 5 years unlimited unless you’re a taxi, rental company etc and then limited to 100,000.

Paul isn't daft enough to know that even Porsche warranties are subject to t's&c's ...and if the forums are anything to go by Shocked Whistle

Is the Porsche warranty the same as Audi?

IIRC, Porsche have never developed or manufactured any Diesel engine.

Which is much more useful but, even then, there are some serious exclusions on components that LR continue to cover to unlimited mileage (albeit 3 years):

https://hyundai-website-assets.s3.amazonaw...itions.pdf

Wheel bearings, all bushes, ball joints, track rod ends, dampers/struts, all rubber components (I wonder just how many components have rubber as part of their construction) - all limited to 60,000 miles. Battery - 2 years (who of us would buy a replacement battery that only had a 2 year warranty?!).

Meanwhile, I’ve just had 4 wheel alignment carried out, at no charge, at 18 months and over 45,000 miles. This would have been chargeable on a Hyundai from 6 months / 10,000 miles, despite it being almost impossible to see that there’s a tracking problem until later than that.
