I was passed on the M40 by loads of cars doing between 80-100 (I was doing 70 - often the inside lane). But the conditions were not the best and I thought 70 reasonable. But they seem to get away with it - mostly - there was a pile up on the southbound carriageway as I neared the M42 junction - so I'm going to guess too fast and more relevant, too close for the conditions. There were also at least 2 trucks on the hard shoulder, either part of it, or just witnesses.

Oh, and some of the cars thought rear fogs were needed and some thought side lights were enough.
