Aaaarrrrrgggghhhhhh ........ stupid driver turned into a road I was coming out of and, to avoid hitting her, I moved over and caught my side step on a hidden lump of com=ncrete!!!
I have retrieved the aluminum trim which is slightly dented but notice the step has been damaged. Can this be repaired and can I fix the ally back on (there seems to be plastic lugs that have all broken), or is it bvetter to cut my losses and buy a replacement?
If the latter is better, can I buy just one side?

you cant buy the trim, you cant but one - sorry
how badly damaged is the step - if the trim isnt damaged, you can poprivet it back on if the step's OK

slightly OT but i ordered two sets around a year ago as part of a group buy, both sets on the drivers side have either the silver edge trim fall off, or begin to fall off in the last week?
anyone else had this bother? and how do they go back on?

Thanks so far guys, I will take a good look at the weekend to see if it is salvagable. The 'frame' of the step is bent but should bash out and the trim is ok but has been dented (I had already dented it a few years ago, so these just add to the look!). Thanks Nick - just what I needed! I think mine will have to wait until I have the enthusiasm to take the step off and buy a rivet gun unless somebody wants to practice?

Reffitted my silver trims after ripping them off.
Cramped them in the correct position then drilled through and used self tappers to secure them.
Not had a problem since.
Easy fix, about 1 hours work.
